NEXT STEP OF SW WAKE
Helping each other navigate the IDD world.
Next Step of SW Wake (NSSWW) is a support group for parents and caregivers of teens/adult children with
special needs. Our goal is to provide an environment of support and assist with information to navigate
through the system, especially when their child is preparing to graduate from high school. We invite
various presenters throughout the year to share valuable information about their services as well as
have open discussions for families who are facing particular challenges.
April 22, Holly Richard with The Tammy Lynn Center will be our guest presenter addressing Housing.
April 29, from 9:30am to 12:00 Resource Fair will be held at Southern Wake Academy, 5108 Old Powell
Rd. in Holly Springs.
May NO MEETING. Memorial Day Holiday.
The following meetings will be held at The Holly Springs Cultural Center.
June 24, Lisa Sullivan with First in Families will be our guest presenter addressing services.
July 22, Maggie Gurling with the ARC will be our guest presenter addressing Housing.

Sept. 23, will be announced at a later date.
Oct. 28 Kelly O'Hara special educator will discuss experiences and available resources for families
